Skating Techniques
Positioning Strategies
Defence-to-Attack Formulations
Man-to-Man Approaches
Reaction Capacity & Timing Procedures
Option 1: Development Academy (1 Hour) 5:00pm
This hour focuses on building a strong tactical foundation within the North American roller hockey system. Players are introduced to core strategies and taught when and why each is used in game situations. Instruction emphasizes game awareness, positioning, and decision-making, helping players read the play both on and off the puck. Coaches also work on reaction speed and adaptability, developing more confident, composed, and resilient players in all areas of the rink.
Option 2: Scrimmage Academy (1 Hour) 6:00 PM ‘12-’18 YOB
This hour is built around competitive, high-tempo scrimmage play. Players will learn through real game situations using a play–pause–teach approach. Coaches stop the action to explain positioning, options, spacing, and decision-making in the moment, then immediately apply those lessons back into play. The focus is on fast pace, creativity, and hockey IQ—helping players understand the flow of the game, make quicker decisions under pressure, and translate skills directly into competition.
